Best Way to Cook

For the perfect back strap steak, keep it simple to let the quality shine through:

  • Remove from fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature
  • Season generously with salt and pepper
  • Heat a heavy pan until very hot, add a little oil
  • Sear for 2-3 minutes each side for medium-rare (the ideal way to enjoy this premium cut)
  • Rest for 5 minutes before serving

The key is not to overcook - venison is best served pink in the middle to maintain its tenderness and flavour. Serve with seasonal vegetables and a rich red wine jus for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
